Building Fire MP x 8 ALP x 1 Incident - Proved to be a Single storey building approx. 60m x 40m used as food retail outlet. Crews used 4 Large jets, 2 Hosereel jets, 12 Breathing apparatus, Positive Pressue Ventilation fans and Aerial Ladder Platform at this incident.
Appliances from Fairweather Green (4201 4202), Bradford (4001 4002 4006ALP), Idle (4401), Shipley (5101), Rawdon (5001), Stanningley (3102 3112HL), Odsal (4701), Keighley (4602), Cookridge (2201) and Batley (8101 8128CU) attended.
The rapid response and tactical firefighting of crews from across the brigade saved almost 80 per cent of the property and prevented the fire spreading to the adjoining church in Heaton.
Speaking at the incident, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Area Manager, Ian Bitcon, confirmed, "This fire could have quickly consumed the building. The swift response and expertise of our firefighters meant that the fire was contained as quickly as possible and resulted in no fire damage to the rest of the complex. The closure of interior doors within the building also slowed the fire and reduced the area that we had to cover."
The cause of the fire is not being treated as suspicious. |
