Andrew Jones Pies, Old Leeds Road, Huddersfield
Report of Gas explosion - On arrival there was a fire and roof collapse within the building. The building used as Pie manufacturers of single and 2 storey, with collapse of roof in single storey section. Crews used initially 1 Hosereel jet and 4 Breathing apparatus. Casualties involved: 5 were led to safety and 1 was placed in the care of paramedics with serious injuries. West Yorkshire Urban Search and Rescue teams attended with specialist equipment including cutting gear, cameras and heavy lifting equipment to rescue 1 casualty that had been fatally injured in the incident and make the building safe.
